Hi, I’m Eric!  Long ago, after I graduated from college and started earning money as an engineer, I wanted to make my savings grow using stocks.  Unfortunately, I didn’t really have any idea how to invest successfully in stocks. I didn’t know the terms of business finance or have any idea of what an excellent company really looked like.   But I was very motivated to learn.

I had another motivation too. I knew that to support my future family and to be chosen for increasingly important work, I needed to understand how businesses work and business finance. To me, learning about stock investing was the perfect way to learn about how excellent companies work and finance, and I could do this at night and on the weekends from anywhere I was travelling with my work.

I started, first by reading all that I could about stock investing and business. Then, I struggled and largely failed with my early investments. Even with all my reading and listening to experts, I was still guessing and hoping with my investments. So I stopped investing.  I applied all my efforts to identifying an investment process that I understood. I studied many companies, including the one I was working for that was very successful at that time. Over time, I nailed down the 6 characteristics that are essential for successful stock investing. I call my process the S.I.M.P.L.E. Stock Investing Method. Each letter of the word “SIMPLE” represents one of the 6 essential characteristics.
